Really, NGE is horribly cliched.

OMG GIANT ROBOTS FIGHTING ALIENS, OMG THE EMOTIONLESS GIRL WAS ACTUALLY A CLONE ALL ALONG, OMG MIDDLE SCHOOL AGED KID IS REALLY ANGSTY AND HE DOES AMAZING THINGS THROUGH THE POWER OF FRIENDSHIP, OMG CHARACTERS REPERESENT MAJOR PERSONALITY TYPES, OMG EVERYBODY WEARS THEIR HEART ON THEIR SLEEVES, etc etc.

No REAL depth at all. :V

Really, pretty much every other Gainax show makes fun of NGE.

now im all for a new season, but only if it is a season worth watching, because i hate how people want there to be more to a story, when it clearly ended. take the movie donnie darko, that was an amazing movie, but then the fans were all saying "WE WANT MORE, WE WANT MORE!!!" then came out S. darko: a donnie darko tale, and that movie sucked ass, also, the show orphan, that was a good story line, sure the ending was a bit expected, yes it did leave me waiting to see the next season, wondering how they would top that, i mean, how can you top that climax, but when i start watching the second season, its shit, they just suddenly forgot about what happened with the dragon, the only part from the last season was fire souls brother, dying. and my final example, and the one that pissed me off the most, DIGIMON!!! THE FIRST AND SECOND SEASON WAS EPIC, THEY FOUND A WAY TO BRING BACK THE STORY LINE FROM THE LAST ONE, IT EVEN SAID THAT EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT THE DIGITAL WORLD, AND THAT THEY WERE AT PEACE WITH IT, BUT IN SEASON 3, THERE IS NO DIGITAL WORLD, THEY FORGOT THAT THEY EVEN EXISTED, AND THEY HAVE TO USE CARDS TO MAKE THEM DIGIVOLVE, I STOPPED WATCHING THERE!!!! SO AS LONG AS THE STORY LINE IS A GOOD ONE, THEN MAKE THE NEXT SEASON, BUT DONT PULL A DIGIMON ON US, AND MAYBE YOU SHOULD SHOW IT TO SOME GOOD ANIME CREATORS, BEFORE YOU PUT IT ON AIR

I think a new season would be intense! Maybe make the story jump a few years so that naota is 19 playing in a rock band that sounds a lot like the battle songs of the fist season. Have haruko come back to earth looking pretty much the same to recruit naota into the space police after a big show. Then have them search the galaxy together for that space pirate atomsk. That's my idea anyway. Anyway a second season would be epic! Though for some reason i can only see them in space
