The Guitars

Everyone knows about:

the blue left-handed 4001 Rickenbacker bass guitar that Haruko wields.

the 1967 Gibson Flying V that Naota uses.

and the Gibson EB-0 that belongs to Atomsk.

but...nowhere on the site is the double neck Gibson EDS-1275 that Naota uses in episode 6.

I saw that guitar at a music store, looked really cool. My dad picked up a guitar next too it, and started playing..

that double one looks really cool! Hang on though, it probably is the guitar that FLCL uses but couldn't you make the argument that the dual that Naoto has when he is in the pirate king form is the two guitars he was fighting with earlier? you know, the flying V and the single Gibson?

The connection and separation of the two instruments would make alittle more sense in terms of the unity of bass & guitar (men and women, woman and men take your pick!) in terms of coming of age and naoto's interaction with the multiple girls around him in the series... also, the unity would symbolize Atomsk. Someone on one of the disscussions said that the pirate king was asexual and i would agree with them; the connection of the guitars shows the perfect balance in traits and ability which could reflect the entities true self.

thats what it is.
he fused the 2 guitars making the EDS-1275.
2 fusing together to make a new whole.
surprised you didnt pick up on that.

... uh ... not 100% sure on this but ... its just a theory thats got a good chance of being true

There was no fuison of guitars. They were they both, at that moment, the same bright-red color. They could have just been held close together and the overlap of the ends couldn't be clearly seen.

Just ... sort of seems like a theory that makes sense to me ^_^

maybe i little more shallow. at that time naota was both atomsk and himself so they fused. they did split up somehow later on.

it does seem like a valid point...but if you look at the guitar when Naota comes out of Atomsk's power...the guitar is still together...and the base is too wide for them to be separate

Doesn't Haruko, like, take Naotas fused guitar when she leaves her Rickenbacker on earth? I'm fairly certain she took it with her.

true...but thats because Atomsk's power fused them...when Naota lost the power...they unfused

hmm, this sounds like the job of SLOW-MO DVD!!

ok, whoever has the DVD of eps. 6 (if its some cheap recording or the real thing I dont care)

put it in slow motion (I'm sure you know how) and just watch and tell us what u see

hell if u can, put that one part in slow-mo in the internet (if thats even possible) and we can all look at it together as a group to figure it out ^_^

it is fused together, believe me..
theres an outline between the two guitars, and when they were put together it did not show, and they also shouted out the name of the guitar when Noata did so..

'being fused together' is just one way of saying in which state those guitars are presented to us. personally i think that those guitars make love to each other.
