Anyone get the flcl blu ray and have a ps3?

Postby nrx » Sat Apr 16, 2011 11:21 pm

I just got the blu ray for FLCL. I put it in my ps3 and all the previews come in filling the screen perfectly and in nice quality.

Then once the FLCL menu comes on, from there on, playing the movie and everything, it ends up with the black bars on the sides-- it won't take up the full screen.
Why is this?
I have a ton of blu rays and never had this problem. Blu ray is high def? Why would it not fill the screen?

I don't even know if anyone here can help me, I figure if anyone else has an HDTV and a PS3 and this movie on blu ray, could you at least tell me if you ran into the same thing?

flcl was never meant for the full hd screen
it may look alot crispier and nicer
but it will stay as the standard sceen (like a regular tv)
if they wanted it in cinemascope or hd 720
they would have to re-do the whole series or crop it to fir the proper screen

so basically buying the blu-ray is a complete waste of fucking time and money

Why did I move here? I guess it was the weather...

Thanks anyway.

Anyone else know what I'm talking about? It's the same with an HD cable box, you can make it so it overrides the sd channels and makes them stretch to fill the screen.

The DVD version of flcl fills the screen perfectly while being played on the same ps3 and same HDTV. But I'd like to know if anyone else that has an HDTV and ps3 is seeing this same issue. Thanks.

I do have a ps3 and the blu ray and I'm not having this problem at all. Would it be possible for you to upload a picture or short video so I can see what you're talking about =D?
