There weren't many, or if any, animated shows that were for older teens and adults. The Simpsons were really "classy" with thier style of humor compared to "South Park".

It used kids as thier characters at that! You could see how it got so much negative attention from parents.

I'm just wondering how an artist or two got the idea of using it in FLCL.....unless "South Park" represented another style of "rebellion" at a young age to society! YEA! The kids in South Park were fouled-mouth, troublesome, dis-obedient punks! And the kids who watched it represented a big middle-finger to what a kid shouldn't do!

It fits perfectly with one of FLCL's many themes, "Rebellion"! Holy shi....I just mind blowned myself...

Lol what?

really, these sections need to be locked. people are just getting silly with this.

in fact, it started getting bad like a couple years ago. we need to take a few of the good threads and make articles out of them, and just lock the sections to prevent any more posting or necro-bumping.

Why? How are the ideas that are to be locked not as crazy as what comes up now-a-days? Everybody gets to express thier opinion no matter how absurd it may be.

Maybe you lost the "passion" for this kind of thing a while ago. Let us people who still wonder about the small things have our moment to. You just seem sour about it.

it's not about passion at all. it's just that nothing new gets said, at all. it's getting to where people nitpick every last little frame in the show for some deep hidden meaning. it's true that there were some underlying themes in the craziness, but in the end the show was just made to test some new equipment and stuff that gainax had, not meant to be a fully fleshed anime.

there are a lot of really good articles and threads written several years ago that cover pretty much everything. the site itself used to have everything you could ever hope to ask for.
