What I would use: XAT. Very easy chat that has guests to owners. Owners can ban moderators, members, and guests. The main owner, (Person who adds it,) Can ban anyone they like. This is also easy because if there is a youtube link, you can just click it and you get the chat with the youtube video. Has a set of avatars there already or you can use your own if you like. Private chats are very easy to use, too.

ChatNGo: Another easy chat, just not as quick as XAT. This is very much like XAT, only that you can't tell who the owners are or such. Gives you a bigger
avatar box, a place for you age, location, and about yourself. Another bad part if the private chatting. You have to do that on a person's profile which you have to open up in a new tab/window. The person whom you want to private chat also has to go there, too.

Edit: I found that there is an IRC Chat. I belive there should be a chat that shows up while your on the forums to make it more accesible. You could easily to do this with an XAT. Either that or just make the IRC chat visible instead of making it a different link, just put it below the forums.

a few members sometimes use the chat, but other than that, it isn't touched.

the admin isn't here to do anything, so that "embedded"-style IRC (or whatever you were suggesting, that's what I thought you proposed) wouldn't happen, and... basically, it's all been said before.

final line is the users need to learn to use the irc chat instead of the forums... but we like our post count race here.

^Exactly why I would rather take an embed code even though it already has one. Since the owner isn't here, maybe instead of using the IRC chat, we could be linked to just a different site. Put it in the Lounge or something, get any mod, (if there is any,) to sticky it.

And to what you said, that's WHY I want one. You have liek over 9000 posts. I had posting random stuff that could be used instead of posting 3 words. <_< I could have summed this up in about 5 words but that's just not my stle... lol.

admin/mod's are basically dead, (sadly?) if you haven't been around here much. I doubt the users would go for a link to a chat room when they have an empty forum waiting to be spammed. just saying

I have >9001 posts, (and less than a good three members now, due to me being away for 28 days this summer...) thx. and just to bring myself out of the "OMFG U R TEH_HARRIBL" kind of light that a hefty post count on a spam filled site brings, have you seen the average count of people in the IRC?

it's most always 0, maybe 1. and it's usually too out of the way for anyone to keep open, usually getting bundled with the option to talk with yourself, which doesn't really sound fun when you have to sit and type what you're saying to yourself... mirite

I like that you're at least posting about this problem, and you're following up on it (++), but... without user support, nothing will happen. and without an admin or mod, nothing can happen.
sorry I guess. there's other users who've taken a stand to try to fix the site as well, but they're nothing more than one or two spam threads themselves... as yours would become if the usual members started posting their ideas about the thread... o.o

3rd Sentence: Have an XAT Group. I would make one if you'd like. Instead of having the IRC up, *dunno, for some reason I just hate IRC,* We could have an XAT. Post it as a sticky/announcement forum in a thread. Make it easy to get to. Just copy the link, or if this forum host can get links, just do that instead.

I've also noticed that there IS another site, and that one is newer, correct? We could switch to that instead. Be much easier. There would have to be an admin active, so he could just emebed the chatbox at the bottom. And to, "an empty forum waiting to be spammed on," ... FLCLW2 is being frowned upon by the almighty resident otaku-lord that is known as FR here, and FLCLW has a much "homier" feel anyways.
I think I'm still one of two admins over at FLCLw2... but I dunno.
& there is a chat box down on bottom, and a secondary one that works faster than the "shout box" that's embedded.

19,000 posts, shared between, at most, 6 users, is very empty.

it's basically... a laggy archived chat room that counts each Enter as a post. and then there's the off topic posts that don't count as posts themselves... D:
