I think at once point in the anime, Haruko mentions to Naota that ,"...this place is just a base..." (or something along those lines...)

which got me thinking about were Naota lives....Mabase.
Lets take it apart
M A B A S E
M A Base

not sure what the M is, but it looks like A Base. (which makes sense)

It could just be that i'm crazy and Mabase just happens to be the name.

Ideas?

You know. The name is the same in japanise. I kina doubt they named it that just for an obscure reference that only the English audiance would get.
But anyhow. If they DID mean to do that...
how is base a deeper meaning. Or really relevant to anything. (Yes yes, I know, it's got the Giant military base thingy. But I don't think they need to obscurely reference that.)

here's the truth, no arguments possible. i was listening to a japan hardstyle song, it was off of the Druggy's Acid RacK album. in it had what sounded like "mah-bass"

obviously this means flcl and naota is actually a secret anti-raver police officer in disguise.
