No, it was About Haruko who took just her guitar to that battle field.

Code: Select all

00:05:52,835 --> 00:05:55,099
What are you doing?
Why don't you help me?

133
00:05:55,905 --> 00:05:57,372
But mine is...

134
00:05:57,473 --> 00:06:00,499
Why'd you bring that?
This is saba-ge!

135
00:06:00,610 --> 00:06:02,737
Asage, hiruge, yoruge...

136
00:06:03,012 --> 00:06:05,139
Oh, we're in trouble-ge!

OKAY, NO NEED TO FEAR, I SPEAK JAPANESE!!!

Sabage literally means "survival game". But I'll translate everything to make it more clear, since you translated a bit wrong...*pops in 3rd FLCL dvd*

Japanese-

Naota:NANI YO TEN DAYO??? *blahblah* sabage!!!

Haruko: Asage, hiruge, yoruge...oh...hinto yobou-ge

________________

Translation-

Naota: WHAT ARE YOU DOING???*blahblah* this is a survival game!!!

Haruko: breakfast, lunch, dinner...oh...here's a hint, take cover...

(note, the 'hinto youbou-ge' is a tricky one to translate, since 'hinto' is meaning 'hint', and 'youbou' means 'precaution', or 'to take protection against'. So I'm going to go right ahead and assume my translation is correct in some way. But of course, I didn't add the '-ge' but meh.)

Very well, "saba-ge" means survival game (or war game?). But what goes next?
Code: Select all
Kitsurubami:
Blue! Blue!
...
If you write "fish" and "blue" it looks like...
Saba for mackerel!

Haruko:
Mackerel, my butt!

Mamimi:
Writing "fish" with "blue" is a common mistake.

Subtitle:
"Correct way to write mackerel"

I have a feeling that translators, while trying to keep some spirit of pun being used (if not the pun itself) made a certain mess of it. What exactly was said there and why?
