ok i will be serious on the list

NGE - made me re-think life in general...and seeing during that time i was in a state of depression like shinji. plus the characters are all enjoyable there are some funny parts but don't make it a comedy series
it deals within the human mind and dealing with
alot of hard choices to make at a young age
and realizing that not everyone in the world hates you
there is someone out there for you
which gave me hope

Cowboy Bebop - one of the best anime out there
the story is incredible, the characters are complex, and the music...my god its brilliant!

Outlaw Star - incredible story and characters, plus it doesn't get the credit it deserves

Eureka Seven - dealt with adolescence...despite i was in my early 20's when watching it
but it made me feel like a kid again going through
a kids trials and tribulations

i cant think of any more because its late...

bro, after i saw NGE over christmas break of 09,i also rethought life. It made me realise how truly miserable things can be, i learned appreciation for happy moments,i learned so much about myself and why i am the way i am,but it also helped me change as a person.idk,it was deep, and so incredibly psychological,it makes you take a step back and analyse yourself with the characters you see. I'm not sure if i can say my life would be different if i hadnt seen it, but i atleast like to think its helped me out alot.

Cowboy Bebop is a necissity to watch, even though i thought almost all the episodes involving actual bounty hunting and not spikes past where boring as shit(except for the one where he fights the psychopath with the child's mind).

I should get back to watching anime,i might watch samurai champloo since i never finished it,and im probably gona wana finish Habane Ranmei

Samurai Champloo is very good. One of the first places I saw it, was on Adult Swim one night. I followed it from there, then Adult Swim cut it off right before the last 2 episodes if I remember right. Looked it up a good time later, found there was actually a few entire episodes they left out, as well as those ending episodes.

Pretty satisfying show.

hmmm, there are many..
Cowboy Bebop, I can watch over and over. Like FLCL you find little things that weren't as obvious the first few times you saw it.
GITS... I just cannot "not watch".
E7 was interesting
Samurai Champloo I would watch again, especially in light of the post above that says I missed some of it from AS
Kite
Porco Rosso, Hard to explain but worthwhile
Akira
Appleseed
Elfen Lied
Gantz
Noir
Solty Rei
I'm out of titles for the moment... But that's a few of my favs

After thinking for a bit, I have to say my favorite anime is Lupin III. The Red Jacket likely being my favorite episodes.

I don't know what it is, the animation, the style, the music, the overall personality of the characters. All of it just adds up to make one anime I friggin love.

Were not counting FLCL for obvious reasons, right?

1. Rurouni Kenshin/Samurai X - Something about 18 century Japan is so awesome to me. From the art, to the humor, and everything else in between, is perfectly done. Amazing fight scenes as well.

2. Golden Boy - For the longest time in my life I wanted to run around the country picking up jobs and basically be a bum. But the endless wave of girls doesn't hurt either.(Nor the toilet fetishes)

3. Pokemon - The eight year old pokemon master inside of me couldn't keep quiet.

4. Outlaw Star - Awesome story, is a lot like Cowboy, but in a good way

5. Gundam Wing/G Gundam/Zoids - Mecha animes are Mecha.

6. Yu Yu Hakusho - FINGER BANG

7. Tekkonkinkreet - Amazing movie. Amazing art style! A must-see!

8. Paprika - It's like an acid trip... on steroids

9. Yu-Gi-Oh! - See 3.

10. Rozen Maiden - DESU

11. Lupin III - Thief story done right

12. Fist of the North Star - Its the smelly grandpa of Shōnen that sits in a corner, covered in his own liquid and tries to give you that shitty melted down caramel candy

13. Grenadier - GIRL LOADS BULLETS TO A REVOLVER WITH HER BOOBS

Obvious inclusions are:
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Cowboy Bebob
Akria
Dragon Ball Series
