I really liked the beginning of the series very much, but by the end I absolutely hated it, especially Shinji

yeah, they really fucked with it too much. it started out pretty cool, lots of action, intriguing plot, etc. then they had to go and dump a bucket or two of mindfuck on the plot.

really, i think one of the last episodes i saw was with the mind control angel that fucked with everyone. and one where shinji was in some dark place and saw the blue haired chick fucking some guy. or something.

i think gainax was trying to show that the whole nerv organization was slowly coming apart at the seams, and it was their own fault for fucking with shit that wasn't supposed to be fucked with.

it was no surprise to me, I probably would have even been pissed if everything turned out okay

but I hate what they did with all of the characters, I would have liked the anime allot better if they had just left them be

it's gainax, they have to destroy the innocence of their characters before they consider it a finished series.

i mean, asuka gets raped (i think) shinji gets exposed to bad stuff, and rei was a robot sex slave for shinji's pedo dad all along.

well i dont believe Asuka gets raped. its very vaguely sort of implied at the very end, but not even really. it just could have just been counted as an interpretation of the last line.


and Rei they never say she's a sex slave, but I didnt see any of the remakes of the last episodes, just the end. so they might have said it then.

she wants to care for shinji, and seeing she is an altered clone of his mother her instincts kick in
but she merges with lilith with the adam embryo in her
