The male and female species of humans are relatively different. Firstly, females have two X chromosomes, breasts that lactate, and an uterus. They are usually gentler than males, and are typically more social. Males have an X chromosome and Y chromosome, have (a) penis/testies, and usually have more pubic hair (beards, legs, chest, etc) than females. Men are usually more aggressive, as seen in play of very young children, and are some what reserved.
Despite the major differences, we as humans coexist as a society.
But how close should you be with the opposite sex?
Today I called up a friend asking him if he wanted to battle pokemon. He told he was going to spend the night at a female's house, along which another guy for a movie/game fest.
I was disgusted.
I grew up with strict rules in the house. No male friends can hang out with me unless they knew BOTH my parents AND another female was present AND we must remain in the same area. (harsh, yes)
But I was always educated that it was improper to be with a man alone.
Now, I know my female friend will not be harmed. The men with her are my gay friend and my fiancé.

But really, shouldmen and woman remain aclose as they are in the american present society? Or should the opoosite sex be avoided unless for work,school or business?

ive got a best friend that's a guy and we sleep in the same room all the time, and I trust him completely, and I think that trust makes our friendship stronger we have known each other since we were kids.

although, I dont necessarily think its a super good idea to have a boy/girl sleep over if you dont really know the person.

men and women are fundamentally different, this is true. when a man and a woman are alone together, biological instincts kick in and say "it's time to make dem babies". however, the neat thing about humans, and the main thing that sets us apart from other animals, is the ability to defy our instincts.

i too, was raised to think that casual sex is wrong, and other stuff like that. if i found myself alone with a person i found attractive, it would be easy to ignore them. really though, for more things that we realize, we are what our parents and peers make us.

if you look back through history, there are periods of promiscuity and periods that are really sexually conservative. i would say that right now we are in an in-between period, with both views existing and vying for control.

I think the bottom line is, regardless of whether we admit it, there is undoubtedly some form of attraction between a man (or girl) and his/her opposite sex peers. But I don't think that really ammounts up to much of anything.

I like having friends who are girls as much as I like having friends who are guys. So I think, yeah, the relatively closeness/casualness with the opposite sex we have nowadays is a great thing. Not so rigid as to be isolated, but not so casual as to be totally integrated. YEAAAH
