Ok, I've decided that the best solution for the time being is just to close registration. I'll approve new members on a case-by-case basis or they can email me if they want in sooner. The spam is getting out of hand again.

With all due respect, this doesn't sound like a great idea. Why are you so opposed to just making someone a mod? Why are those other guys on the list still mods? I've been here a few years now and never seen some of them come online.

We already get very few members, slowing down the entire process of registration to a case by case thing is going to cripple whatever members even bother nowadays.

If you were to make 2-3 mods who are here on a regular basis and give them the permissions to delete members (and all their posts with them), this issue could be streamlined a great deal more. Just sayin'.

The things I were suggesting weren't meant to be a permanent solution, just a way of calming things down till the voting is over, and to make the job of the mod easier, since there would likely be only one.

2 would be nice, but only for if one of them vanished. Having 2 mods on a forum this small would be kinda silly, especially if takai added more anti-bot measures.

Because even with mods around we're gonna get flooded, because the mods can't be on 24/7, and the bots are posting a lot in a short amount of time.

Before Takai deleted the last bunch, there were a lot more than 4 posts. And if you ignore it for too long it snowballs out of control like it did before the forum was shut down that one time.

And right now in the lounge there are 15 bot posts in a row.
