Bass tabs.

Postby Helter Skelter » Tue Jul 03, 2007 8:23 am

In the Music section of the main website, I noticed a bass tab section with only one song that isn't even tabbed fully. This really made me want to listen to The Pillows and tab out some of their songs for this website, as I'm a fan of both FLCL and The Pillows. I'll submit a tab in this thread every once in a while. I'm working on the tab for "Rush" right now, it has a pretty fun bass line in it.

Still working on this tab for "Rush". I wanted to learn this song the easy way by looking for someone else's tab online, but those tabs sucked so badly.

And if you're getting a Rickenbacker 4001 and don't even know how to play, that's a huge waste of money. If you want something similiar to an instrument used in FLCL, get this.

An Epiphone EB-0. Pretty similiar to the one from FLCL, but I believe that the one in the show was a Gibson. Assuming you don't know how to play bass, you should get that, not the 4001, as it saves money and gets you all you need to start playing right out of the box.

Here's a pic of my bass with some hot pink DR coated strings.

Anyway... Most of the tabs that I saw had the intro/verse correct, so there isn't really a difference between what I have and what other tabs have. However, the bridge between the verse and chorus was totally wrong on other tabs, but I've corrected that.

I'm working on the chorus right now, but it's kind of difficult, seeing as my laptop has sucky bass output.

Cool I play bass to. By the way I love your strings I saw them in my bass magazine and I want them so bad!

This site does seem to be lacking in the music department...Like you said theres only one bass tab, and not even any guitar tabs at all! And your strings are awesome 8) .

Yeah, I saw them in a magazine, too.
They were only like $30.

Whoa, same-time post!
I started watching anime and got sidetracked from the tabs, my bad.

Well then...
That sucks. I'll tab it anyway. If anyone wants what I have so far, feel free to message me on AIM or MSN, or PM me your e-mail. It's in Notepad format.

The hot pink strings are great looking... Do they sound good...??

If anyone were to want to pick up on bass, I'd advise going with a Peavey Millennium 4-string... It is amazing... The sound is magnificent and everyone I know loves it aloot... Very comfortable and versatile...

There should be guitar tabs too since most choose guitar over bass...

Yeah, these strings sound awesome.
The bass I'm probably going to be saving up for is a pellum blue Epiphone Thunderbird.

I know what you mean, how most choose guitar over bass. Most of the bass in "Rush" is just root notes, and most of the guitar is just power chords.
