The List

Okay, we all know pretty much all, if not most all of the deeper meanings that flcl has, and might have throughout the show (and in some cases beyond :?)

so the idea of this thread is to make one large collaborative mass of the deeper meanings, so that they will be easier to find if and when they are needed.

do multiple meanings if you want, but please, keep it within the rules, aka no double/triple/whatever posts, please no spam, and try to keep smilies limited.

and if anyone sees something wrong with someone's post, quote them and alter it please :D

#1. Naota's preference to sweet drinks changing to pulpy kinds is one layer of his change

#2. Haruko's Bass represents Music, being the language of love, awakening Naota when she ends up whacking him and entering his life

I think those are right... next person?

see you guys soon.

1# Haruko representing freedom, a childs sexual fantasty, carelessness, and manipulation

2# Amaroa, representing the adult, that wants to crontrol kids from seeing sexuality, and knowing about it, also represents a symbol of someone who is a slave to his work, and is narrow mind
ed in his activities...can be seen as a father figure to noata

3# Mammi, representing the run of the mill japanese girl, also represents someone of attachment, who is slaved to certain things, and attaches herself to them.
And in a way, uses them.

4# Noata representing, a childs development through sexuality, a spiratual and philisophical search for happieness, and freedom from the people that control him.
All of this relates to finding oneself...or knowing oneself...
Home is where the self is.

I don't know if you would consider this a deeper meaning but.....

#1: When mamimi mentions in episode one. "Well I like him more then hard bread." That was refering to Naota as the hard bread and that was all she had was him for the time being instead of Naota's brother.

I think that what I just said is correct. If you think that this shouldn't be in this thread just say so. Or if you think that i'm completely wrong please do me the favor and quote me and tell me the real meaning behind it.

Nah, she calls out for Tasku senpi or maybe Takun senpi (sp/gr). Senpi being a Japanese honorable meaning literally (he who came first). Either way, she calls for Naota's brother proving how little she respects him which pushes him over the edge and gives him the confidence to leave her.

* Medical Mechanica as representing "the man" the cold unfeeling (robotic) corporation that contols and surveys the town, while realsing the white smoke. The smoke is a symbol of confusion and lack of understaning. Clouding the minds of the adults, preventing them from finding happiness and bending them to it's whim. Also, blocking out the sky, the outside world, Naota's potential. Haruko, the rebel, is the one who seeks to undermine them by freeing Atamosk, freedom incarnate.
